Chairperson Robert D. Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:15PM with Commissioner Jon Byerly and Port Manager Christine Phalen were present.

Guest: Sid Cackett, Ken Jarstad, and Mr. McDonald.

Chairperson Stevens explained that the meeting had been postponed one week due to Commissioner Kelly in Alaska on Family business and Chairperson Stevens was ill.

1. Motion was made to accept minutes of April 6, 2004. The motion carried.

2. Motion was made to accept the vouchers as prepared. The motion carried.

Chairperson Stevens said the plan had been to continue to work on the Comprehensive Plan but due to Commissioner Kelly being unavailable the Comprehensive Plan would be on the agenda for the June meeting.

Campground Information Board: Commissioner Byerly reported on the installation of the Information board. The board has been installed in a way to allow to be added to as needed. Port Manager and Attorney Gordon Walgren researched the correct RCW# giving authority for the Port. Rules and Regulations are under consideration to be acted on by the Commission prior to sending them to the printers.

Commissioner Byerly asked Port Manager Chris Phalen if she had posted anything on the information board. Mrs. Phalen reported that nothing had been posted at this time. Commissioner Byerly felt that nothing should be posted until information for the board was developed. He would like to see something along the lines of the website. Items of interest such as Points of Interest, a map of the area, and other things of interest to the public. He, also, pointed out the information on the wall of the Port building as a possible addition to the information board. It would be an interesting addition plus give some history of the area. Suggestion was made to try and develop a disc and then we would have something to present to the printers to make a poster and laminate it.

Fire Pits: Commissioner Stevens raised the question on the fire pits being built of the Port (Minutes Port of DEWATTO May 11, 2004 Continued)

by the DNR. Port Manager Phalen said she called him at the office and left a message but he did not return the call. She then tried to contact him at home leaving a message asking if the fire pits were done we would pick them up and the Port would have them installed.

Port Manager Phalen reported that Commissioner Kelly had gone to his office but he was not there. It was suggested that Commissioner Stevens try and contact him and thank him for the work he has completed and offer to pick them up.

Port Logo: Commissioner Byerly stated that he would like to see this item completed and removed from our agenda. Ken Jarstad had e-mailed all of the Commission with some samples and Commissioner Byerly presented a design. Commissioner Byerly made a motion to accept this design. Motion carried.

Website: Commissioner Byerly asked Mr. Jarstad if the Port has a contract with him for the website. He was told that there was no written contract. There, however, was a motion made to pay Ken $ 50.00 per month. Commissioner Stevens stated that the website is well planned and serves the purpose it was intended for very well.

NEW BUSINESS: Commissioner Byerly said he has scheduled the D.J. for June 19^th for our 77 Anniversary Party. Commissioner Byerly said the objective for the Anniversary Party is to pull the Community together. The party begins at 6:00PM. Question was raised as to the budget for the celebration. A motion was made to budget $500.00. Motion carried

Chris stated that Dewatto Daze is August 21 but had no further information as the Committee members were not present.
