New Business:
Chairperson Edwards said he was down at the Park over the weekend and someone complained about the people being charged $10.00 for the extra car. Port Manager Phalen said the $10.00 fee is for day use with 6 people per car. Chairperson Edwards said where he camps, they charge $10.00 per night for extra people. Commissioner Stevens said we discussed this not long ago and to leave the decision to the Port Manager. Chairperson Edwards said we can’t stop people from parking on the road. Port Manager Phalen said they can’t park on the road and come in and use the park for free. After some discussion, Commissioner Stevens said he thought it should be left up to the Port Managers discretion. Commissioner McLean agreed. Port Manager Phalen added that if she runs into a couple that can’t come at the same time, she works it out with them. But if another family comes in, you charge them. The Commissioners agreed to leave it up to the Port Manager.
Fire Department:
Chairperson Edwards said we are still waiting to hear from the Fire Chief. He continued with that we are still pursuing the relationship with the Fire Department. Chairperson Edwards added that we need that lease agreement and thought their meeting was the second Tuesday. He felt that if we got the lease signed, it would make everything go easier. He said we need more information on what they want in a Fire Station.
Commissioner Stevens said Joe O’Leary put together the drawings for the station. Chairperson Edwards said he is not in favor of putting doors in for drive-thru. He said that is too expensive. Commissioner Stevens said that is something for the Fire Department to study to see what it will cost them each month and what they will have to come up with on Grants and other sources. Chairperson Edwards said what we need from them is something in writing identifying what they want, so we can pursue it. Commissioner McLean asked if anyone was going to the Fire Commissioners meeting. Chairperson Edwards said if he is home, he was going to the meeting.
New Business:
Commissioner McLean asked if there was any way we could keep the quads from coming to the Park and riding across the street. Port Manager Phalen said there is very few quads come to the park any more and you can’t ride them in the Park. Chairperson Edwards said he talked to a group of people a couple years ago that had a whole bunch of quads. Port Manager Phalen told him those people haven’t been back since. Everyone agreed we want a good working relationship with Manke.
Chairperson Edwards said he and Port Manager Phalen just filled out our 2010 report for the auditors office. They call it Form 22. He said we went through 4 people to do this, and 4 hours later it was finished.
