Chairman Robert D. Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Commissioner Lynnett McLean, Commissioner Larraine Kelly and Port Manager Chris Phalen were in attendance.
Guests Present: Mr. and Mrs. Jarstad
Consent Items:
Unfinished Business
Chairman Stevens asked if there was anything to report on the campground. Port Manager Chris Phalen said she deposited $1,400.00 this month and everything was quiet over Memorial Day weekend. There were only two reservations for shrimping.
Port Manager Phalen said she talked to Joe today, and he was working on his final paper. He will contact all of us next week to discuss everything and try to get this finished.
Chairman Stevens asked if there was anything on the web site. Ken said all the minutes are up to date on the web site. He also said he didn’t get the agenda for tonight’s meeting. Mr. Jarstad took a picture of the group for the web site.
New Business
Commissioner Kelly asked Port Manager Phalen if she got the numbers up in the park. She said some had been replaced already. She only replaced the bad ones and the missing ones and will replace others as needed.
Commissioner Kelly asked about the Plexiglas and Port Manager Phalen said she had not heard from Dave.
Mr. Jarstad asked if there was trouble with people taking down signs and Port Manager Phalen said not really.
Port Manager Phalen said she also put up the 5 MP signs.
Commissioner Kelly asked if there was anything Mr. Jarstad felt the web site needed to improve it. He said that at one time he had suggested a bulletin board system with forms for the commissioner’s use and the public could view the forms and give input and they could conduct business. Commissioner Kelly suggested there might be legal problems with that as commissioners are not allowed to contact each other about port business outside of meetings. Mr. Jarstad said it would need some kind of legal review as it would be ground breaking. Commissioner Kelly said that Gordon had been in the hospital with cancer and he only had a 50/50 chance of beating it. Chairman Stevens and Commissioner McLean are going to Chelan to a WPPA meeting next week. Mr. Jarstad said maybe they could bring up this concept there.
